Friendly matches on the field of play

The test events, which ensure that venue and competition operations are locked down and running smoothly before the Games, will feature host nation France and hockey powerhouse Germany for men’s and women’s friendly matches, along with matches for the France U21 teams.

Countdown to the final stretch

With less than 100 days until the Games begin, excitement is mounting. Jon Wyatt, OLY, FIH Interim Senior Director said: “It is going to be special to see the men’s World Champions play the hosts of the Games and the rising French women’s team taking on their German counterparts in the 100-year-old Yves-du-Manoir Stadium, in the FIH’s 100th year. It is also an opportunity to test just how little water this pitch will require to play at the very top level which is an important step in our sustainability journey.”

Jean-Pierre Bailly, Commercial Director of Polytan France, highlighted the event’s sustainable and ground-breaking impact: "This surface is going to be great for the sport, as each turf saves 73 tonnes of CO₂, making over 200 tonnes saved for the Paris Games."

Revolutionizing the game with a green future

Poligras Paris GT zero turf, hockey’s only carbon-zero turf, is made from 80% sugarcane and manufactured with green electricity, and was developed for the Paris Games, ensuring that hockey is one of the most progressive sports.
